Payments 101 (US)
Quick introduction to payment tracking in Mindora for US-based therapists.
Do I Need This?
Not every therapist needs full payment management. Some prefer keeping finances separate from their session management tool. That's perfectly fine!
Ask yourself:
- Do I want to track which sessions are paid/unpaid?
- Do I want to send payment reminders to clients?
- Do I want to accept online payments through Mindora?
- Do I need to generate Superbills for insurance reimbursement?
If you answered yes to any of these, keep reading. Otherwise, you can skip payments entirely and use Mindora just for sessions, notes, and calendar.
Two Approaches
Mindora offers two levels of payment management for US therapists:
Simple Tracking
Just mark paid or unpaid
Track payment status without any integrations. Mark sessions as paid when you receive payment outside Mindora.
- Requires no setup.
- Works with any payment method (cash, check, Zelle, etc.).
- Get a quick overview of who owes what.
Payment Links
Send links, get paid online
Create payment links and send them to clients via text or email. Payments are tracked automatically.
- One-click link creation
- Automatic payment confirmation
- Built-in reminders
- Bulk links for multiple sessions
What About Insurance?
Insurance Reimbursement
Generate Superbills for your clients
If your clients have out-of-network benefits, you can generate Superbills they can submit to their insurance for reimbursement.
- Uses a professional Superbill format.
- All required fields come pre-filled.
- Easy to download and share.
