Getting Started

To create a new template, go to the template list of the relevant note type from the Tools > Note Types page. Two buttons are available at the top of the page:

Two Ways to Start

Create Template

Click this button to start from scratch. An empty editor opens where you add sections and blocks yourself.

Use System Template

Click this button to use an existing system template as a base.

"Use System Template" is ideal for quickly comparing all templates under a type and editing the one you like.

System Template Selection Window

When you click "Use System Template", a window opens. You can preview existing system templates and choose one as your starting point.

Template Editor

The template editor consists of two main parts: the Structure panel on the left where you build the template, and the Preview panel on the right where you can see changes in real-time.

Sections

Templates are made up of sections. Each section has a title and contains blocks.

Add Section

Type the section name in the input at the bottom of the editor and click the + button.

Reorder

You can reorder sections using drag and drop.

Section Options

From the menu in the top right corner of each section, you can duplicate or delete.

Blocks

Blocks are data entry fields within sections. There are 10 different block types.

Add Block

Click the + button inside a section to select a block type.

Block Settings

You can edit each block's title, description text, and type-specific settings.

Instructional Text

You can add optional instructional text to each block. This text guides the therapist while writing the note and explains what to write in that field. The text appears in gray in the editor.

Block Types

Each block type is designed for different data entry:

Text

Basic block type for free text input.

Checklist

List of checkable items. You can add predefined options.

Table

Structured data entry with rows and columns.

Numeric Scale

Numeric rating like 0-10 or 1-7.

Likert Scale

Agreement scale (Strongly Disagree → Strongly Agree).

Frequency Scale

Behavior frequency scale (Never → Always).

Bipolar Scale

Rating between two opposite poles (e.g., Passive ↔ Active).

Therapist Note

Blue background, special area for clinical comments.

Client Quote

Golden background, special area for client quotes.

Hint Block

Non-editable, informational content. Used for instructions or guidance.

Live Preview

Changes you make appear instantly in the right panel. When you click a section or block, it's also highlighted in the preview.

Saving Templates

To save a template:

1

Give the template a name (required).

2

Add at least one section (required).

3

Click the "Save" button in the top right.

Tip
The save button won't be active without a name and at least one section.

Template Description

To add a description to your template, click the file icon next to the Save button. In the window that opens, you can briefly describe what the template is used for.

This description appears in template lists when selecting a template and helps you quickly find the right one. In the future, you'll be able to share your templates with other Mindora therapists; a well-written description will make it easier for others to discover your template.

Editing Templates

To edit an existing template, click "Edit" from the template's menu in the template list.

Tip
System templates (with lock icon) cannot be edited. However, you can duplicate them and create your own version.

Duplicating Templates

To copy an existing template, use the "Duplicate" option from the template menu. The copy is created and you are redirected directly to the editor.

1

Open the three-dot menu of the template in the template list.

2

Click the "Duplicate" option.

3

The copy is created as "[Original Name] (Copy)" and the editor opens.

Tip
You can duplicate system templates to create your own version and customize it to your needs.

The "Use System Template" flow works the same way behind the scenes: it creates a copy of your selected system template and opens it in the editor.

Setting Default Template

You can set a default template for each note type. When creating a new note, this template is automatically loaded.

1

Open the three-dot menu of the template in the template list.

2

Click the "Make Default" option.

3

A star icon appears next to the template.

Tip
Only one template per note type can be default. When you select a new default, the previous one is removed.

Archive and Delete

Templates can be archived and deleted just like note types. Archived templates cannot be selected for new notes, deleted templates remain in trash for 30 days.

Archive

Archive templates you no longer want to use. Existing notes are not affected.

Delete

Deleted templates are moved to trash and can be restored within 30 days.

Note Template Reference

When a template is deleted, notes using that template have their template reference cleared (becomes blank template). Note content and type remain unchanged, only the template link is removed.

Quick Undo

After archiving or deleting, a 5-second notification appears. Click "Undo" to instantly reverse the action.

Note Type Effect

When a note type is archived or deleted, all templates belonging to that type are also automatically subjected to the same action.

Template Name Rules

Template names are subject to certain rules:

1

Two templates with the same name cannot exist within the same note type.

2

Template name can be at most 100 characters.

3

Template name cannot be empty.

Tip
If another template with the same name exists, you'll see "A template with this name already exists" error.
