What are Tasks?

The Tasks module lets you track your daily to-dos and clinical work related to your clients in one place. It is designed to help you complete work outside of your appointments — writing reports, preparing formulations, following up with clients — without forgetting anything.

Two Categories

Clinical

Tasks linked to a specific client. For example, "Prepare case formulation" or "Complete session notes." You can associate a client and optionally a session with clinical tasks.

Personal

General tasks not tied to a client. For example, "Write supervision report" or "Follow up on invoices." These are for your individual work.

Three Statuses

To Do

Tasks that have not been started yet. Newly created tasks start in this status by default.

In Progress

Tasks currently being worked on.

Completed

Finished tasks. Completed tasks display a green check icon and their text appears in a muted tone.

Three Priority Levels

Low

Non-urgent tasks that can be done when time allows.

Medium

Normal priority tasks. New tasks are created at this level by default.

High

Urgent tasks that need to be completed as a priority. Highlighted with a red badge in the list.

Creating a Task

To create a new task, click the "New Task" button in the top-right corner of the tasks page. In the form that opens, you can fill in the following fields:

1

Click the "New Task" button in the top-right corner of the tasks page.

2

Enter a task title in the form and fill in the required fields.

3

Click "Save" to create the task.

Form Fields

Title

A short, descriptive name for the task. This field is required.

Description

Write the task details using the rich text editor (TipTap). Formatting options like bold, italic, lists, and links are supported.

Status

The current status of the task: To Do, In Progress, or Completed.

Priority

The urgency level of the task: Low, Medium, or High.

Category

The type of task: Clinical or Personal. When you select Clinical, fields for linking a client and session become available.

Start Date

The date you plan to start working on the task.

Due Date

The deadline for completing the task. When this date passes, the task is marked as overdue.

Tip
When creating a clinical task, you can optionally link a session after selecting a client. If you change the category from Clinical to Personal, the client and session fields are automatically cleared.

Task List

When you open the tasks page, all your tasks are displayed in a scrollable list. Each row lets you quickly see the key details of a task and take action on it.

Checkbox

Click the checkbox on the far left of a row to quickly mark a task as "Completed," or click it again on a completed task to reopen it.

Task Title

The name of the task. Completed tasks show a check icon and appear in a muted tone.

Category Badge

A colored badge indicating whether the task is Clinical or Personal.

Status Badge

A badge showing the current status of the task: To Do, In Progress, or Completed.

Priority Badge

A colored badge showing the priority level: Low (grey), Medium (orange), High (red).

Due Date

The task deadline. Overdue tasks display the date in red with a warning icon.

Action Buttons

Edit and delete buttons appear on the right side of each row.

Tip
The list automatically loads more tasks as you scroll down (infinite scrolling). Simply scroll to the bottom to see all your tasks.

Editing & Deleting

You can edit your existing tasks or delete ones you no longer need.

Edit Task

Click the edit button (pencil icon) on a task row to open the editing screen. You can update all fields: title, description, status, priority, category, dates, and client/session link.

Quick Status Toggle

Click the checkbox in the list to instantly mark a task as "Completed." Clicking the checkbox again on a completed task returns it to "To Do" status.

Delete Task

Click the delete button (trash icon) on a task row. A confirmation dialog will ask if you are sure. Once confirmed, the task is permanently deleted.

Version Conflict

If the same task is updated from another session while you are editing it, you will see a version conflict warning when you try to save. In this case, refresh the page to get the latest data and reapply your changes.

Important Tips

Completed Tasks Are Hidden by Default

The task list shows only "To Do" and "In Progress" tasks by default. To see your completed tasks, check the "Completed" option in the status filter.

Calendar views show all statuses by default — because the goal on the calendar is to see the full picture of that week or month. The list view is designed for daily focus, so it highlights what still needs to be done.

Task Calendar

In addition to the list view, you can also view your tasks on a monthly calendar. The calendar view lets you see at a glance which days your tasks fall on based on their due dates.
