iyzico Account Setup (Turkey)

Step-by-step guide to creating and verifying your iyzico merchant account to accept online payments in Turkey.

Beginner

What is iyzico and Why Is It Needed?

Turkey does not support Stripe or other international payment gateways for domestic card payments. Turkish regulations require the use of a local payment provider licensed by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK). This means that if you want to accept credit or debit card payments from clients in Turkey, you need a locally licensed solution.

Tip
We understand this process requires extra steps compared to simply connecting Stripe, but Turkish regulations require a local payment provider for domestic transactions. The good news is that once your iyzico account is set up and verified, everything works smoothly from that point on.

iyzico is one of Turkey's leading online payment platforms. It supports all major Turkish bank cards, offers installment options, supports multiple currencies (TRY, USD, EUR, GBP), and provides a secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure. It is a great choice for therapists and practitioners who serve clients in Turkey.

Prerequisites

Before applying for an iyzico business merchant account, make sure you have the following:

1

Business Registration

At least a sole proprietorship (vergi levhasi / tax certificate). Mindora integration requires API access, which is only available with a business account.

2

Turkish Bank Account

A Turkish bank account with an IBAN. This is where iyzico will transfer your payouts. The account holder name must match your business registration exactly.

3

KEP Address (Registered Electronic Mail)

A KEP (Kayitli Elektronik Posta) address is required as part of your business contact information. You can obtain one from authorized KEP providers such as PTT, Turkcell, or TNB.

No business registration yet?
iyzico also offers individual accounts (without a company) that support the "Link Payment" feature. However, individual accounts do not provide API access, which is required for Mindora integration. If you are just starting your practice, we recommend registering as a sole proprietorship at your local tax office — it is straightforward and enables full integration.

Step-by-Step Account Creation

Follow these steps to create your iyzico merchant account:

1

Create Account at iyzico.com

Go to iyzico.com and click "Sign Up" or "Become a Merchant". Fill in your business information, contact details, and create your login credentials.

2

Upload Required Documents

Upload the documents listed in the "Required Documents" section below. Make sure all documents are clear, legible, and up to date.

3

Contract Approval

Review and digitally sign the iyzico merchant agreement. Read the terms carefully, especially sections about transaction fees, payout schedules, and dispute resolution.

4

Wait for Approval

iyzico typically reviews and approves applications within 24 hours on business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your account is activated. In some cases, they may request additional documents.

Required Documents

The documents you need depend on your business type:

Company (Limited / Anonim Sirket)

  • Signature circular (Imza Sirkuleri)
  • Tax certificate (Vergi Levhasi)
  • ID copies of all shareholders
  • MERSIS number and trade registry gazette
  • KEP address document
  • Bank account information (IBAN)

Sole Proprietorship (Sahis Sirketi)

  • Tax certificate (Vergi Levhasi)
  • ID copy (front and back)
  • KEP address document
  • Bank account information (IBAN)
Document Tips
Upload documents in high resolution (PDF or clear photos). Names on your tax certificate, bank account, and ID must match exactly. Any mismatch will delay your approval.

Fees and Commissions

Here is an overview of iyzico fees:

No Setup Fee

Opening an iyzico merchant account is completely free. There is no activation or monthly fee.

Transaction Fee

iyzico charges 4.29% + 0.25 TL per successful transaction as the standard rate. If you have high transaction volume, you can negotiate lower rates (down to 2.99%) directly with iyzico.

Mindora Commission

Mindora does NOT charge any additional commission on your payments. The only fees you pay are the standard iyzico transaction fees.

About Fees
iyzico occasionally offers promotional rates (e.g. 1.49% for the first months). Check iyzico's current campaigns when signing up. Mindora does not add any markup to these fees.

Payout Schedule

Understanding when your money arrives is important. Here is how iyzico payouts work:

Standard Blocking Period (3 Weeks)

iyzico applies a standard 3-week blocking period for all new merchant accounts. This means transactions from Week 1 are paid out in Week 4. This is not a one-time hold — it applies to all transactions until your account matures.

Payout Day: Wednesday

Payouts are deposited to your bank account every Wednesday. All transactions from the previous settlement period are bundled into a single weekly payout.

It Gets Better Over Time

As your transaction history builds up and your account gains trust, the blocking period can be shortened. iyzico also offers an Early Payment Package for eligible merchants with a strong track record.

Tip
Plan your finances accordingly for the first month — your first payout will arrive approximately 3 weeks after your first transaction. After the initial period, you will receive weekly payouts on a rolling basis.

Common Issues

Tax Certificate / IBAN Name Mismatch
The business name on your tax certificate must exactly match the name on your bank account. Even small differences (such as abbreviations or missing middle names) can cause your application to be rejected.
Document Rejection
If your documents are blurry, expired, or contain mismatched information, they will be rejected. Re-upload clear and current versions to expedite the process.

After Account Setup

Once your iyzico account is approved and active, the next step is to connect it to Mindora:

Go to Mindora Settings and navigate to Integrations.

Find the iyzico card and click "Setup".

Enter your API Key and Secret Key from your iyzico Merchant Panel.

Test the connection and save.

For detailed step-by-step instructions on connecting iyzico to Mindora, see the iyzico Integration Setup guide.
